Frequently Asked Questions
Updated September 8, 2008.
What’s your relationship with Pagan Publishing and EOS
Press?
Arc Dream creative director Dennis Detwiller was a founding member of Pagan
Publishing and co-creator of some of their most successful properties, including
Delta Green. He also created Godlike and its first supplement,
Will to Power, which were originally published by Hobgoblynn Press (now EOS Press).
Arc Dream president and managing editor Shane Ivey has worked with Pagan Publishing
for years on various projects and has maintained their official Delta Green
website since 1998. He also created the official Godlike website
for Hobgoblynn Press.
The staff of Pagan and EOS are our compatriots of many years. We would
not be here without them.
Do you publish Godlike and Will to Power,
or does EOS?
As of June 9, 2003, Arc Dream is the publisher of Godlike and its first
supplement, Will to Power, as well as all other products in the Godlike
game line. Hobgoblynn Press published Godlike and Will to Power
originally.
What's with all the Delta Green quotes? Are
you going to publish anything for Delta Green?
Yes.
Why did you form your own company?
Because we’re gluttons for punishment.
Okay, you’re right, that’s a wimpy answer. The real reason: Because
we dig the idea of writing and drawing what we like and then getting you to
pay us for it.
Hey, you asked.
I love your games. What can I do to make sure you
keep publishing them?
Buy them. Don’t look at me like that—I’m serious. Not a week
goes by that we don’t hear from somebody who says they love Godlike
but haven’t gotten around to buying it yet. Make that purchase. It will
keep the game alive.
Even better, buy it from your friendly local game store (FLGS). Get them to
special-order it if you have to. Tell the store owner, the clerk, the other
patrons, and everybody in sight how great the game is and how they ought to
stock more of it. Ask if you can run Godlike games in the shop. And send
us the name and address of your FLGS—we’ll get in touch with them,
too.
If you see one of our books on Amazon.com or some other prominent online bookstore,
buy a copy there. If you already have a copy, buy one as a birthday or Christmas
gift for a friend. Or at least post a short review telling everyone what you
like about it.
Be vocal in the gaming communities. Talk about us on your favorite websites,
or set up one of your own.
Volunteer to host Godlike games at a convention. (If you volunteer for
a con, let us know—we can help!)
And so on.
I hate your games. What can I do to make sure you
never publish them again?
Go to RPG.net. Start a discussion
entitled "Why I hate Wild Talents, Godlike and Monsters and Other Childish Things." Vent your spleen. Go ahead.
Go on, do it. We promise we’ll immediately stop publishing. HONEST.
Isn’t ARC DREAM the name of a secret government
project in Delta Green?
You're not cleared for that information.
When is the Second Edition of Godlike coming
out?
Whenever the first edition sells out.
When is Wild Talents Second Edition coming out?
Fall 2008.
