Delta Green Targets of Opportunity

Are there other games worth discussing? Of course not! Anyway, here's the board for anyone secretly enjoying games that aren't published by Arc Dream.

The P500 payment style is good but usually should it cost less when you prepay than buying it without prepay just like when its done with wargames?

If it's necessary we could do something like that, but the profit margin on a short-run hardback is slim enough already. We did something like that with Wild Talents first edition -- free U.S. shipping for pre-orders -- and while it did help generate incentive we got hit hard by the postage.

I think the pre pay system for future sourcebook is a great idea....

In fact, I think it may be an excellent way to bring in future Delta Green, Wild Talents, Godlike etc. sourcebooks in the future.

Any chance of instituting a P500 type wargame pre pay system for future sourcebooks so the gamers and fans could vote(with their wallets) on what kind of books they want?

If it works well for wargames I think this can work equally well for RPGs.

I have a great deal of experience with that sort of thing (at Avalanche Press more than Arc Dream), but it wouldn't really work for us. We use other services to process our sales -- Indie Press Revolution and Key 20 -- and we would not be doing them any favors by listing several things for pre-order that may never see the light of day. It would confuse their other customers to no end, which would generate ill will.

A few questions about Targets of Opportunity:

Does M-Epic and Pisces have close ties?

Are the heads of M-Epic also as corrupted as the heads of Pisces?

I would think so, the heads of Pisces has their hunting lodge in BC Canada, probably allowed by M-Epic. Maybe corrupted by Ithaqua.

Disciples of the worm, what 20 year old case?

The leadership of M-EPIC definitely has issues.

There's a very old article on Delta-Green.com that deals with the Disciples of the Worm. I don't have the link in front of me. The case was a little squicky.

How long will it take to publish the book after the collection reaches 20,000 US$?

Just made a pre pay for a copy, great stuff.

Any chance on seeing more of these kinds of pre pay for Delta Green?

I will not hesitate in doing it for Delta Green.

I expect we'll be able to release the book in late 2008, but I can't give a specific ETA yet.

I was very pleased by the huge response from fans in pledging for this. I was worried the deadline would be too tight, but look at those pledges!

The writers are all hard at work on the book right now. I hope to have it in editing in a few weeks, and layout a few weeks after that.

Will DG: TOO have any information pertaining to post 2001 history or agency updates?

A little, but probably nothing huge. We have two possible projects coming up to address that issue squarely and we're still deciding which project to run with. We've avoided getting into it much in Eyes Only or Targets because we want to handle the material right, in a book where that's a primary focus.
