Well, conjurers and invokers can cast spells that don't directly conjure or invoke a demon or archon. However, such spells ONLY affect spirits. All spells deal with or relate directly to spirits, even if they don't invoke one. With harm, for example, you harm a spirit. If that spirit is bound into a lock, you harm the lock as well, because it's been intertwined with the spirit.
So yes, there are plenty of spells that don't call upon spirits, but they still deal with them.
